The Roussillon region has 14 AOP and 2 IGP certifications and is able to produce dry still wines and vin doux naturelles (naturally sweet wines) using 24 varieties, each with its own unique characteristics. It is full of wines with unique characteristics.
Combining ancestral and modern techniques, Roussillon is steeped in viticultural traditions, with pioneering winemakers at the forefront of organic and biodynamic cultivation.
Roussillon is home to 2,166 small, family-run vineyards, including nearly 400 individual producers, 25 wine producer cooperatives and just under 100 wine merchants.
