The Rhône is an important wine-producing region located in southeastern France. It stretches approximately 240km north and south along the Rhône River from Lyon to the Mediterranean coast.
Broadly divided into northern and southern climates, the cool northern appellations such as Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage express the purity of Syrah.
In the warmer South, Syrah is used in blends of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône-Rouge. It is often blended with Grenache and Mourvedre.
