Balan
Balan
[Tradition and innovation, and the clean-lined flavours of the Veneto]
The Balan estate was founded in 1962 by a young Sergio Balan; the winemaking began in the garage of his own home.
The headquarters were built in 1966 at Trebaseleghe, not far from Venice, and later expanded to a 3,600-square-metre site surrounded by five hectares of vines.
What Sergio achieved he achieved with the help of his wife Attilia, and later through the efforts of their sons Fabio and Daniele, who run the company themselves today.
At the end of the 1980s, while holding fast to traditional winemaking, Balan began distributing fine wines and spirits, improving steadily in both quantity and quality.
Four generations of work, a restless drive to innovate, the synergy between production and distribution, close relationships with great producers and, above all, an inexhaustible passion for wine have made Balan one of the leading players in the Italian wine market.
The historic vineyards at Sant'Ambrogio have been there since the beginning, joined since by sites at Caneva, in the Grave del Friuli, and at Combai and Campea in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG.
Through work aimed at protecting biodiversity and the distinctiveness of the land, the estate supports the conservation of both landscape and nature.
