Production

The wines are vinified and aged separately. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks. The wines are aged for 18 months in barriques, with about one-third being new barrels. Barrels deemed unsuitable are discarded before the blending of the wines. After blending, the wine is rested in tanks for a minimum of 1 month. This is followed by 3 months of bottle aging. Continuing aging is recommended.

About the Winery

Balan

Balan

The Balan company was founded in 1962 by a very young Sergio Balan, who thus put to good use the knowledge gained working with his father Giuseppe and his grandfather Jeremiah: both had various agricultural activities, but were known above all as, we would say today, specialized courtiers in the wine sector. During the First World War, Giuseppe, who left for the front, could not take care of the family business. At that time his wife Rosa Stella played a decisive role in the stability of work and the maintenance of relationships built by her husband.
