Collection: Domaine Guyot-Bre

[Respect for Mâconian tradition and nature, woven by Burgundy's organic pioneers]

Domaine Guillot-Broux is a fifth-generation wine producer based in Crusilles, Mâcon. Pierre Guyot, grandfather of current owner Emmanuel, was a pioneer of organic viticulture, planting the first organic vineyard in Burgundy in 1954. The vineyard was certified organic in 1991.

Jean-Gérard Guillot, the founder of the Domaine, spent several years honing his winemaking skills at Domaine de la Chanal in Brouilly and Bernard Michelot in Meursault. In 1978, he returned to his hometown and started making wine with his wife on a small 1-hectare vineyard.

The majority of the vineyards are located on east-facing slopes, receiving ample sunshine and ideal clay-limestone soils for vine growth. The Domaine is meticulously managed, using plant-based pesticides and stable active compounds that leave no residue in the wine, as well as natural cultivation methods such as green manure and organic fertilizers, to ensure that no adverse effects are left on the wine.

The eldest sons, Ludovic and Patrice, joined in 1999, followed by the third son, Emmanuel, before his father retired in 2004. The vineyards currently cover 17 hectares, with approximately 80% of the vines dating back to the pre-phylloxera period. Although some vines have been replanted since the purchase of the domaine, they have continued to practice organic farming from the beginning, working hand in hand with nature for over 50 year.
