Marc is a distilled spirit enjoyed after a meal and is particularly popular among cigar lovers.
It is also used in the traditional Burgundy dish "True Bourguignon" (blackcurrant sorbet or granita topped with Marc), and is popular as a palate cleanser between celebratory and sumptuous meals.

Marc de Bourgogne is a spirit obtained by distilling the pomace remaining after pressing red wine. Commonly called "marc," it is traditionally distilled in the region by bouilleurs de crus (growers who distill their own wine).
The resulting alcohol is aged for at least 10 years before bottling.
When it comes to great spirits, age is more important than vintage, which is why Guyot-Ble lists the bottling date on each bottle.
