Malaga province's first barrel-fermented dry Moscatel

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
Straw yellow. Very clean and bright. Delicate aromas of Muscat, white flowers, mandarin, fresh grass, and a hint of wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with flavors of white fruit and quince, accompanied by a slight bitterness. The finish is long and persistent.

Production

Moscatel de Málaga is one of the indigenous varieties of the protected designation of origin. Its origins trace back to the arrival of the Phoenicians on the Málaga coast in the 17th century, and to the 7th century BC. Traditionally produced as a sweet wine, it has been vinified as a dry still wine in the 21st century. MONTICARA is the first barrel-fermented product of this variety.

About the Winery

Victoria Ordoniez

Victoria Ordoñez

Ever since Victoria Ordóñez can remember, wine has been part of her life. Her father, José María Ordóñez, was a pioneer in the Spanish wine industry, selling fine wines throughout the province of Malaga since the 1950s. Victoria's own professional career took a different direction (she studied to become a doctor and obtained a doctorate in medicine), but in 2004 she decided to enter the wine business, initially combining it with her work as a health services manager.
