An homage to the founding father of the domaine, crafted from carefully selected grapes of old vine Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
A powerful note with aromas of tobacco, prunes, violets, and milk toffee. The palate is velvety, with notes of licorice and morello cherry, followed by a lingering chocolate finish.

Pairing
This wine is still young but will pair beautifully with red meats like a fine beef steak. It also complements dishes such as lamb tagine with apricots or cherry-flavored duck breast. In about ten years, it will be excellent with a royal-style hare.

About the Winery

Domaine de la Solitude

Domaine de la Solitude

Domaine de La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots date back to the 15th century. In the 17th century, Hélène Barberini, descendant of the illustrious Tuscan family of the same name, married Claude Martin, owner of a vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their grandson will give a tremendous boost to the estate by creating the first label on the Appellation. Thus “the Wine of Solitude” becomes a guarantee of quality and is exported.
