[Pure Saint-Bris, reflecting the essence of the terroir]

The Goizot family, based in Saint-Bris-le-Vine, between Saint-Bris and Irancy, was taken over by Ghislaine and Jean-Hugues in 1979. The cellars where father Jean-Hugues and son Guilhem produce their wines date back to the 11th and 12th centuries.

The current generation quickly began working with organic farming and obtained certification in 2001. They then switched to biodynamic farming and obtained Demeter certification in 2005. In the same year, their son Guillem and his partner Marie joined the team.

Guilhem and his father, Jean-Hugues Goizot, like other top French vignerons, recognise that great wine comes from great viticulture, and great efforts are made in the vineyards to create as natural an environment as possible, ensuring that the plots are well cared for and meticulously vinified. The Domaine has long been a role model for the region.

Saint-Bris has a historically disadvantaged history, having been removed from the Chablis appellation after the phylloxera epidemic in the late 19th century. Once part of Chablis, it faces north and is located a few kilometers east of Chablis. It shares the same unique geology as Chablis, rich in Kimmeridgian limestone.

Meanwhile, the neighboring Côte d'Aucerre, established as a region of delicious white Burgundy, is benefiting from changes to the AOP regulations, which allow the cultivation of Sauvignon Blanc and Aligoté in addition to Chardonnay, a region other than Chablis.

Today, the Goizot estate is a small village that resembles a cross between Chavignol and Chablis. Its beautifully crafted wines offer an excellent price-quality ratio and are immensely popular throughout France.

The wine has depth overall, and the power of the terroir is felt. It expresses the transparency underlying the chalky soil more than any other Chablis wine. The wine has a straightforward, very pure fruit flavor, and has great aging potential, resulting in a taste that pursues the essence.
