Tasting notes
The 2019 G d'Estournel has an energetic balance of freshness and richness, power and restraint. Lively, spicy and slightly bloody, it offers aromas of blackcurrant and violet.
It has a long, silky flavor, enhanced by eucalyptus, thyme and rosemary.

Pairing
Oven-baked whole sea bass with lemon and herbs, fresh oysters, roasted free-range chicken with vegetable puree, lemon and asparagus risotto, and fresh goat cheese with honey.

Production

In 2019, the vineyards experienced more pronounced conditions with less rainfall than those in Cos d'Estournel, but the old vines, deep roots, careful care and the cooler temperatures near the Gironde allowed the vineyards to withstand the conditions.
