Due to a significant Reduction in the 2021 vintage harvest, there was a risk that the barrels might be left empty. Since each barrel is planned to be used for over 10 years, maintaining their integrity was crucial. Consequently, Emmanuel purchased a vineyard in Languedoc (with organic certification pending), had a partner produce the wine there, and then transported it to Burgundy, where it was aged and bottled at Domaine Guyot-Bulle. This is the Chardonnay produced under these circumstances.

By aging the wine with the lees from the 2020 vintage from the Domaine, Emmanuel was able to control the yeast, thus imparting the unique style of Guyot-Bulle. The barrels used for this process were crafted by artisans from Mercurey, a region renowned for its barrel-making expertise.

About the Winery

Domaine Guillot - Broux

The estate was created in 1954 by Pierre and Jeannine GUILLOT. In 1978 their son, Jean-Gérard Guillot, came back to Cruzille town with his wife and they created Domaine Guillot – Broux with only 1 hectar of vines. Today Emmanuel et Patrice Guillot, the third generation, is taking care of the family business.
