About the Winery

Château Beauregard

Château Beauregard

Chateau Beauregard is a historic winery located in the Pomerol region on the right bank of Bordeaux. It was founded in the 11th century by the Knights of St. John. The Knights used the area as a place of lodging for pilgrims at the time, and traces of this can still be seen in the current Chateau emblem. In the 18th century, the estate switched from farming, which produced a variety of crops, to winemaking, specializing in grape cultivation, and established itself as a prestigious chateau in Pomerol. The current chateau was built during the Napoleonic era and is a beautiful Gironde style building designed by a disciple of Victor Louis. In 2014, the Moulin and Cathiard families acquired ownership and carried out extensive renovations, including the addition of new gravity-fed fermentation facilities and temperature-controlled concrete fermentation tanks, allowing for precise fermentation of each plot. The 17.5 hectare vineyard is composed of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, with an average vine age of 35 years. In 2016, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon was also planted, and there are high hopes for future blends. The wine offers aromas of ripe plum and flowers, subtle smoky oak spice and earthy notes, with elegant tannins and a rounded finish. Château Beauregard also practices environmentally friendly organic farming methods and uses preventative measures to protect the vines and fruit during the summer rains. Combining Pomerol tradition with innovation, Château Beauregard offers wines that combine elegance and power, making it an attractive choice for wine lovers.
