This 100% Grenache Blanc orange wine shines with a pale golden color. It features aromas of white pepper, sweet spices, and garrigue (a Mediterranean herb), and 21 days of skin maceration give it a firm structure and tannins. The rich aroma and long finish that fill the mouth make it an excellent match with Japanese cuisine and cheese. This is a unique yet sophisticated wine to enjoy.

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
It has a clear pale golden color and a distinctive aroma of white pepper, cinnamon, and sweet spices.
There is also a hint of garrigue (a Mediterranean herb).
In the mouth, the rich fruitiness and lingering aromas spread, while firm tannins provide structure. Over time, the wine becomes rounder and smoother.
This white wine brings out the complexity of its aroma and flavor when paired with Japanese food and cheese.

Pairing
Sea bream and flounder marinated in kelp
Creamy Japanese-style pasta made with miso and soy sauce
Matured cheese (Comté or Mimolette)

Production

Cultivation
Fresh red and limestone soils in the Traveliere terroir, north of the village of Algérier.
This plot was originally intended for producing "Stratet", but in 2024 part of the lower part was suitable for this cuvée, so it was used.

Winemaking
The harvest took place in mid-September. The wine was skin macerated in stainless steel tanks for 21 days.
Pumping over is carried out daily.
The amount of SO₂ (sulfite) used during brewing is low.

About the Winery

Clos Constantin

Clos Constantin

In 2009, Pierre Halley, originally from Argelliers, took over the vineyards of his uncle, a cooperator. There, he started to vinify his own wine but could not do so at home. So, in 2015, he joined forces with his friend Samuel Durand, former sommelier at Lavinia. In 2017, the two of them created Clos Constantin and its winery. In fact, the name of the estate is a tribute to Pierre's great-grandfather, whose first name it was.
