Emmanuel Raynaud 2012 Chateau Rayas Chateauneuf-du-Pape

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is characterised by a pRedominantly Grenache proportion of around 98%. The winemaker favours low yields (just 18 hectoliters per hectare) and allows the exceptional terroir to speak for itself. The sandy soils are free of the famous pudding stones so typical of this appellation (Louis Reynaud is believed to have removed them by hand). Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks and élevage (20 months) in old barrels.
