A harmonious blend of salty and mineral notes reminiscent of the sea breeze, and the aroma of fresh pear and citrus fruits. The palate is saturated with firm acidity and a concentrated flavor, leading to a stimulating yet mellow finish. Born from natural cultivation and careful vinification, this Muscadet is the ideal pairing for seafood.

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
A brilliant pale lemon yellow. The aroma of white flowers and citrus fruits is harmoniously combined with a salty taste reminiscent of the sea breeze and a subtle minerality. In the mouth, there is a firm acidity and a concentrated flavor, with nuances of fresh pear and green apple. The salty minerality tightens the overall flavor, making it a strong match with seafood. The aftertaste is refreshing and long-lasting, making it a well-balanced wine that is both stimulating and calming.

Pairing
Mackerel and sea bream tartare
Lightly cooked langoustines
Citrus-flavored sauteed scallops

Production

Cultivation
Origin: Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine, Vallet village
Field information: Planted in 1974. Mikasakist rock and double Mika gneiss.
Legend has it that a shipwrecked sailor named the area "Vera Cruz."

No synthetic chemicals are used, and the grapes are treated with natural preparations.
Soil vitality is stimulated with Cornu Compost
(Apply 500 once or twice in spring, and apply 501 as needed after flowering and before harvest).
The Guyot pruning is done gently to allow for good sap flow. The planting density is 6,500 vines per hectare. The grapes are carefully selected by the harvesters in the vineyard before being pressed on-site.

Certifications: Organic (ECOCERT FR-BIO-01), Biodynamic (DEMETER & BIODYVIN)

Winemaking
Natural fermentation using wild yeasts. Aged for 16 months in underground concrete and glass tanks.
No racking will be performed and the wine will be bottled in January 2025.

About the Winery

Domaine Luneau-Papin

Domaine Luneau-Papin

Domaine Luneau-Papin is located 20 km south of the Loire River, 20 km from the city of Nantes, and is a prestigious estate with a history dating back to the 17th century. The previous generation, Pierre Luneau, has long been one of the producers who have taught the ageing potential of Muscadet. From fresh, crisp Muscadets to long-aging Muscadets that finally reach their prime after aging, he has made wines that bring out the best of each terroir and its potential. Today, under the leadership of Pierre-Marie Luneau, the ninth generation of the family, the focus is on expressing the differences between the terroirs more clearly.
