Sancerre - Les Bouffants 2021

Les Bouffans is a south-facing terroir. Its limestone soils and sunshine give the wines a strong, dense and sensual character. At the Domaine, the Bouffans terroir is divided into two parts. The first part (Hauts de Bouffans, 75% of the plot) is located at the top of the hillside and has very stony, but mobile and flexible soils that work very well. The second part (the slopes of Bouffans, 25% of the plot) is a steep slope of finer and softer limestone, called griottes. On this slope the grapes ripen early and always produce grapes of a golden color. Like the Côte de Lépine in the Damoclé vintage, "Les Bouffans is one of the mythical regions of the Sancerre appellation and we wanted to separate it to highlight another side of the diversity of our plots.
