[The challenge of a young vigneron couple, weaving together the tradition and passion of Sancerre]
Domaine Denizot has vineyards around Verdigny and Chavignol. The vineyards are primarily cultivated on caillote (limestone) soils, producing elegant, powerful, and fruity Sauvignon Blanc. A portion of the vineyards are grown on clay-limestone soils, producing fruity and refined Pinot Noir. The Denizot family has owned the estate for six generations, but it is now run by a young couple, Thibaut and Jennifer. These passionate vignerons continue to improve the estate with each vintage, elevating its status.
Their working methods are in keeping with the Sancerre tradition: the wines are vinified plot by plot, with meticulous adjustments made every year. Experience, combined with instinct, is key. Thibaut dreamed of becoming a vigneron from an early age and attended wine school in Beaune, where he met many passionate and talented young winemakers, with whom he shared his knowledge and dreams. Of course, having grown up in the vineyards, viticulture was already in his blood.
Together with his wife Jennifer, they strive for uncompromising quality. It's a demanding task, but this young couple live and breathe Sancerre, with their attention to detail and respect for nature. This admirable attitude allows them to improve the quality of their wines every year. They own 18.5 hectares, of which 75% are Sauvignon Blanc and 25% are Pinot Noir.
