Domaine Deunizo is a family business that has been in the family for six generations.
Jennifer Denizot and Thibault Denizot currently head the family estate.
Located in Verdigny, the commune's domaine adjoins Sancerre and has 20.5 ha of vineyards in two prestigious appellations in the Centre Loire - Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé.
The domaine is historically rooted in Sancerre AOC and currently owns 18.50 ha of land, with 75% Sauvignon in white Sancerre and 25% Pinot Noir in red and rosé Sancerre.
The ancestors are from the village of Amigny and 65% of the parcels are in the village of Amigny, with the remaining 35% distributed in the communes of Verdigny, Chavignol and Sancerre.
The terroir is 90% Cayot-type soils (Portland limestone), including famous terroirs such as Bouffant, Côte de l'Epine and Chassaigne. The remaining 10% is white land (Kimmeridgian marl of Saint-Dulchard), including the Damned Mountains.
Every day, he works with precise gestures and actions to support the evolution of the plant in a healthy and controlled environment.
To bring out the natural flavours of the grapes, little work is done in the cellar to make white and rosé wines with fresh, crystalline contours and beautiful mineral tautness, and reds that are fleshy and elegant.
Jennifer Deunizo and Thibault Deunizo's domaine takes a more qualitative approach to wine production in order to reflect the passion that drives their profession as winemakers.
