The year 2022 was blessed with abundant sunshine. By blending three varieties of White grapes, this wine subtly balances the expression of the entire terroir.

This cuvée reflects the fruitiness and elegance of Bergeron (Roussanne), the delicacy of Altesse (Roussette), and the freshness and minerality of Jacquère (Chignin).

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
Straw yellow in color. Fruity aromas of peach, toasted almonds, butter, and sweet spices. Delicate and deep flavors, refreshing and flavorful, warm, with a mineral and tense finish.

Serving temperature: 12-13°C

Pairing
Gougères, freshwater fish dishes, white meat in sauce, potato gratin with blue cheese, and cheese platter.

Production

The grapes are harvested from limestone slopes facing south and southwest, as well as from hills formed by glacial moraines. The vines are organically cultivated with biodynamic methods.

Harvesting takes place entirely by hand between September 10th and 25th, and the grapes are transported in crates to preserve the integrity of the bunches. After harvest, the grapes are pressed without destemming.

Brewing: Settled at low temperatures and fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in tanks (60%), barrels (30%), and amphorae (10%). Malolactic fermentation takes place.

Racking and bottling at the estate are scheduled according to the lunar calendar. During bottling, SO2 is added in quantities below 40 mg/L.

About the Winery

Domaine Denis & Didier Berthollier

Domaine Denis & Didier Berthollier

In 1850, Louis Tissot established an agricultural farm in Chignin with very few vines, which were cultivated for the family's personal consumption. After the Phylloxera crisis in 1900, a few vine plants were replanted, and they are still cultivated today. In 1950, Victor Berthollier (paternal grandfather of Didier and Denis) was among the very first to commercially bottle their wine; at that time, it was more common to sell wine in barrels and bulk.
