[Producers who continue the traditions of Chateauneuf-du-Pape]

The Mas Saint-Louis Domaine was founded over 100 years ago by Jean-Louis Géniest, consolidating the family's land along the old road from Avignon to Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Louis Genieste (1909-1990) was instrumental in expanding the work of his founder, acquiring new vineyards and consolidating some parcels through several land exchanges, creating an estate of more than 30 hectares, magnificent in its homogeneity and harmony.

Louis's work was continued by his son Jean, a Doctor of Law and renowned legal scholar, and the Domaine is now run by his wife, Monique Geniesto, who focuses on improving the soil and crops while also modernizing the facilities.

The fields are in the process of converting to organic farming, maintaining a traditional and sustainable culture that respects the environment, while always prioritizing careful manual work.

With the exception of a small plot of Syrah (adjacent to the cellars in the village center of Châteauneuf-du-Pape), the vineyards are spread across the southernmost part of the appellation. The land, with names like "Cruiseroutes" and "La Lionne," borders the Armenière River, a former tributary of the Rhône that is now a fishing reserve. A very old farmhouse, built with the traditional "tappie" construction method, made of compressed clay and gravel, is located at the heart of the estate. Surrounded by oak and pine forests, the vineyards gently extend from the hills of La Lionne to the country road connecting Avignon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Grenache grown here expresses its character with subtlety.

After vinification, the wines are aged for a long time, using oak barrels and demi-muids whenever possible to develop the delicate and complex tannins and aromas that best characterize Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and egg-shaped concrete tanks for Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc.
