Aline Beauné made her debut as a winemaker in her own right only in 2018, but she came to it with a deep well of experience behind her.

For fifteen years she led the winemaking at the celebrated Château de la Crée in Santenay.

Then, in 2018, she took the decision to reclaim the family vineyards, which until then had been let out on a farming lease.

The opportunity arose when the lease on the family's five hectares — worked by the Buxy cooperative — came to an end.

Those five hectares lie around the village of Saint-Vallerin and break down as follows: 12.5% Aligoté, 25% Bourgogne Blanc, 50% Montagny Villages and 12.5% Montagny Premier Cru Les Chazelles.

From the moment she took the vines back in hand she began converting them to organic farming.

That transition demands meticulous work in both vineyard and cellar. Aline brings her own approach to élevage too, striking exactly the balance she wants between stainless steel and oak barrel in Buxy, at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise.

Her rigour shows in wines admired for their elegance, purity and precision.

Every stage of the process, from organic viticulture to patient ageing in the cellar, is directed at one end: wines that express the essence of their terroir and her dedication to quality without compromise.

Domaine Aline Beauné is tradition and innovation in a single breath, and the wines captivate with their finesse and their honest expression of Burgundy.
