"There's not much in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude, apart from its magnificent natural surroundings. No industry, no urban development, apart from the memory of Catharism. It was in this unspoilt land that I planted my first vineyard, in 1983, on a rugged hillside at an altitude of 400 metres," explains Marc Leseney, when we meet at the Millésime Bio 2023 trade fair.
The 5-hectare estate, which has been organically farmed for 40 years, is located at an altitude of 350 metres, nestling at the foot of the Pyrenees, where the clay-limestone terroir in the upper Aude valley enjoys a climate that is particularly favourable to white grape varieties (Mauzac and Chenin Blanc).
Its organic viticulture methods allow the wines to express the minerality and freshness of the terroir.
