Tasting notes
Aromas of ripe blueberries, spices, and herbs such as sage and thyme. It is bursting with the juiciness of fruit, with hints of smokiness and a gravelly nuance filled with small stones. The wine is rich in strong mineral characteristics reminiscent of flint from the schist soils, with a slight spiciness and subtle mineral notes. It is also rich in glycerin, offering creaminess and softness while maintaining a beautiful vibrancy and an indescribable freshness. The flavor lingers with a combination of saltiness and fruitiness.

Production

Terroir: Decomposed crystalline schist and red clay located on the northern side of Mount Forsa Real.
Grape Cultivation: Goblet pruning, leaf thinning, biodynamic farming, hand harvesting.
Vinification: Whole grape fermentation using indigenous yeasts in concrete vats of 24 to 45 hectoliters. Aged for 9 months in large wooden barrels and concrete vats, followed by an additional 9 months of bottle aging.

Domaine le Roc des Anges

Roc Des anges was founded in Febuary 2001. A Carignan vine planted on a vein of quartz is biheind the origin of the name. a white soil surrounded by black schist: the “Lieu-Dit” is called “Roc Blanc” which translates as White Rock. Angels where chosen to symbolize the vein of quartz, and Roc Blanc became Roc Des Anges (Roc of the Angles).
