[The essence of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, born from a legendary spring]
Located in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Château de la Font-du-Loup stands in a lush setting.
The château was built right next to the spring that gave it its name, and legend has it that the wolves of Mont Ventoux used to come down from the plains to drink at this spring.
From this, it was named "La Fond du Lou", which means "Fountain of the Wolf".
The unique terroir formed 5.3 million years ago, the north-facing location that symbolizes freshness, and the meticulous respect for nature in the fields - all these factors combine to produce gastronomic wines that always possess great finesse.
With a strong concern for the environment and a desire to produce the healthiest wine possible, the winery is certified HVE (High Environmental Value) Level 3. To further this commitment, the winery has been practicing organic farming since spring 2021.
Vinification is carried out in barrels or tanks, with careful attention to detail, preserving the terroir and varietal characteristics of each parcel.
The red wines are aged for a minimum of 18 months and the white wines for a minimum of 6 months to allow the fruit characteristics to be fully developed.
