"I continue to consider Cave de Tain to be one of the finest cooperatives in the world and they make a number of truly excellent wines. I believe this is due in large part to their incredible, state-of-the-art cellar/winery. Additionally, they have a fantastic vineyard management and winemaking team."

It was a group of winegrowers who established the Cave de Tain at the foot of the hill, including its president and founder Louis Gambert de Roche, who actively contributed to the creation of the Hermitage appellation decree. The appellation is now 80 years old and the cellars 85 years old.
