Since 1850, the Zuazo family have devoted themselves heart and soul to winegrowing. In 1908, they built a wine cellar with two stone wine presses. In 1947, Mariano Zuazo and Victoriano Gastón founded a wine cooperative with other local growers, specialising in the production of cask wine. With the next generation of the family, in 1987 Luis Zuazo and 9 regional winegrowers joined the newly created Maese Joan winery. In 1989, Prudencio Zuazo Gastón had one wish: to have his own winery to vinify the fruit from his own vineyards and make his own wines. The following decade was used to develop, transform and extend the vineyards to 52 hectares. In 2001, the Bodegas y Viñedos Zuazo Gastón winery was created.
Today, Bodegas y Viñedos Zuazo Gastón owns over 100 hectares of vineyards. With its 4,000 square meters, the winery is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
