This red wine is produced in the cool Terrasses du Larzac, a natural circular basin at an altitude of 230m. It is primarily made with Grenache, with some Syrah and Carignan added, resulting in a vibrant red fruit flavor with hints of spice and herbs. The unfiltered wine has a delicate, lingering finish, reflecting the Larzac terroir.

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
Deep ruby in color, the aroma that rises from the glass is of ripe raspberries and black cherries, layered with nuances of violets, wild herbs, and spices.
The palate is soft, with the fruitiness of Grenache spreading abundantly, while the spiciness and structure of Syrah and Carignan tighten the overall look.
The roundness derived from aging and the refreshing minerality are in harmony, resulting in a long and elegant finish.
This is a sophisticated red wine that is typical of Larzac, combining delicacy and power.

Pairing
Roast duck with red wine sauce

About the Winery

Clos Constantin

Clos Constantin

In 2009, Pierre Halley, originally from Argelliers, took over the vineyards of his uncle, a cooperator. There, he started to vinify his own wine but could not do so at home. So, in 2015, he joined forces with his friend Samuel Durand, former sommelier at Lavinia. In 2017, the two of them created Clos Constantin and its winery. In fact, the name of the estate is a tribute to Pierre's great-grandfather, whose first name it was.
