Collection: Maison Akerman
[The tradition and innovation of the sparkling Crémant de Loire]
Founded in 1811, Maison Ackerman is the oldest luxury sparkling wine house in the Loire region, crafting Saumur and Crémant de Loire using traditional methods. Its expressive, aromatic blends, combining tradition and innovation, are highly valued as premium wines for gastronomy and for any occasion. This is based on the philosophy held dear by founder Jean-Baptiste Ackerman: "Bubbles are fleeting, but emotions are eternal."
The soil of the Saumur region is mainly composed of Tufaux limestone, and the underground caves of Maison Akerman have been dug into this rock, with some of the vines planted directly above them.
The winemaking combines traditional winemaking techniques with artistry and cutting-edge expertise to produce high-quality sparkling wines that are unparalleled in terms of blend diversity, resulting in a wide range of styles, from simple to sophisticated, that maximize the appeal of the Loire terroir.
The wines are mainly produced from their own vineyard, "Les Dames de la Vallée," where grapes are cultivated specifically for sparkling wine, a rare practice in this region. By maximizing the characteristics of varieties such as Chenin, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc, and focusing on freshness, aroma, and balance, they produce sparkling wines that everyone can enjoy.
