Tasting notes
The floral Syrah and Grenache are cultivated in rocky soils. This wine, made from the estate's oldest vines, boasts a silky mouthfeel with elegance, richness, hints of garrigue, and a very fresh finish. It offers a beautiful balance of strength and finesse. Allowing it to breathe enhances its aromatic experience. The unique character of Argelliers is crafted in a cool, isolated microclimate.

Pairing
Stewed mutton, braised beef cheeks and shanks, lamb chops

Syrah is harvested from three different plots at an altitude of 230 meters. Each plot undergoes 30 days of maceration, during which the Syrah is regularly pumped over. One-third of the tanks are aged whole cluster. After this, the wine is aged for 18 months in large barrels and egg-shaped tanks.

About the Winery

Clos Constantin

Clos Constantin

In 2009, Pierre Halley, originally from Argelliers, took over the vineyards of his uncle, a cooperator. There, he started to vinify his own wine but could not do so at home. So, in 2015, he joined forces with his friend Samuel Durand, former sommelier at Lavinia. In 2017, the two of them created Clos Constantin and its winery. In fact, the name of the estate is a tribute to Pierre's great-grandfather, whose first name it was.
