Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, the pinnacle of Gevrey-Chambertin, is produced from a calcareous soil vineyard nestled between Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin, yielding a wine with a delicate yet noble structure. The producer, Domaine Jean-Louis Trapet, is a prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin estate that pioneered biodynamic farming in the early 1990s. 2011 was a supple and mellow vintage with prominent fruit contours, resulting in a wine where the elegance of a Grand Cru can be enjoyed from an early stage.

Tasting Notes

The appearance is a slightly light garnet color. The aroma features red fruits (red cherry, raspberry) layered with nuances of violet and earth, giving it a mineral depth characteristic of Gevrey-Chambertin. On the palate, the tannins are fine-grained and silky, the acidity is lively, and the sweetness of the fruit harmonizes with a firm structure. From the mid-palate through to the finish, a lightness is present, accompanied by the expansive quality typical of a Grand Cru, with lingering notes of spice and earth. Thanks to the suppleness characteristic of the 2011 vintage, it can be enjoyed soon after opening, but further gentle aging can be expected until around 2028.

Viticulture and Vinification
