Domaine Antoine Olivier
【Carrying tradition forward, and giving Santenay a new lustre】
Founded in the late 1960s, Domaine Olivier grew out of a handful of vineyards passed from grandfather Antoine Moreau-Chevalier to his son Hervé.
Parcel by parcel, through purchases and new plantings, the domaine expanded its holdings across Burgundy.
It began in Santenay, then reached into Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pommard, and more recently Rully.
As it grew, the domaine concentrated on the terroirs historically celebrated for Santenay's white wines.
Some of those parcels had lain abandoned for more than a century. The whites and reds born from them are now counted among the great wines of Burgundy, and the domaine has become the largest producer of white wine in Santenay.
Antoine succeeded his father in 2003 and has overseen every part of the domaine's work since.
He holds fast to his convictions as a winemaker, works with meticulous care, and every so often sets out to give a cuvée a lighter touch.
