Olivier Leflaive, a negociant founded in 1984 by Olivier, a member of the prestigious Domaine Leflaive family, has earned high praise for its hand-picked harvests and meticulous barrel aging by a dedicated team. Les Referts, located near the border with Meursault at an altitude of 230-250m, produces wines that combine the elegance of Puligny with the structure of Meursault, thanks to its upper marl and lower iron-rich clay-limestone soils. 2019 was an excellent vintage with outstanding concentration and a balanced acidity.
Tasting Notes
Bright yellow hue. Citrus fruits intertwine with almond blossom and herbal notes reminiscent of eucalyptus. On the palate, a saline mineral outline stands out, tightening the rich fruit flavor. The mid-palate is full-bodied and rich, with a lingering finish of yellow fruit flavors and a subtle hint of honey. It already shows an open character and is at the beginning of its drinking window, but also possesses the potential for several more years of aging.
