The Barolo “Comune di La Morra” comes from two parcels situated within the cellar (Serra dei Turchi e Santa Maria). It expresses an ethereal, delicate and elegant character. An unexpected style for Barolo.

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
Explosion of fruits and flowers, red ripe fruit such as raspberries, red currant, light violet and rose, notes of hibiscus and tea leaves. Bone dry, tannins are pleasant, black olive tapenade, slight burnt caramel, liquorice.

Pairing
Sautéed beef with pomegranate sauce, roasted pork with herbs, light raspberry sauce, deep-fried pork with sweet and sour sauce

Production

The grapes of diffrent plots in “La Morra” are harvested, crushed and fermented separately. Then assembled and transferred to a single 35 hectoliters wooden cask for a period of ageing of 24 months.

Poderi Gianni Gagliardo

The origins of the winery belong to a family who has been growing vineyards in Piedmont since 1847. In 1961 the family moved to La Morra, in the heart of Barolo appellation. All the wines of Poderi Gianni Gagliardo are produced by native grape varieties and reflect the character of their territory. The vineyards are distributed between the langa and Roero and it includes some of the most prestigeous crus.
