It takes the name from the homonymous hill in Monticello d’Alba, in the Roero region. Here the ground is loose, but with more limestone than average.

The grapes are deeper and more complex. “San Ponzio” is aged in a single 35hl oak barrel. It expresses notes of medicinal herbs and is particularly evolving in the glass.

San Ponzio vineyars is divided in three sub-parcels, and the grapes are crushed and fermented separately in small stainless steel containers (maceration in stainless steel tanks for 15 days).
Ageing in a single 35 Hl wood cask for 18 months.

Poderi Gianni Gagliardo

The origins of the winery belong to a family who has been growing vineyards in Piedmont since 1847. In 1961 the family moved to La Morra, in the heart of Barolo appellation. All the wines of Poderi Gianni Gagliardo are produced by native grape varieties and reflect the character of their territory. The vineyards are distributed between the langa and Roero and it includes some of the most prestigeous crus.
