It’s the result of the combination of all our estate vineyards, with a prevalence of the municipality of La Morra. This makes it particularly well-rounded, yet ready to drink at a young age. It ages for 30 months in 35hl big barrels.

Owning & Enjoying

Tasting notes
Explosion of dry rose petals and pot-pourry, raspberries, light note of sugar cane and raw sugar. Very Classic throughout, well integrated tannins that develop gradually within the structure, light notes of spice and eucalyptus.

Pairing
Tagliatelle with eggs in lamb sausage sauce and summer truffles, grilled chicken breast with roasted tomatoes and crispy ham, stir-fried shredded beef and lychees

Production

After a gentle harvest, the grapes macerate in stainless steel tanks for 14 days. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, then aging in 70 Hl barrel (4th passage / old barrel) for 30 months.

Poderi Gianni Gagliardo

The origins of the winery belong to a family who has been growing vineyards in Piedmont since 1847. In 1961 the family moved to La Morra, in the heart of Barolo appellation. All the wines of Poderi Gianni Gagliardo are produced by native grape varieties and reflect the character of their territory. The vineyards are distributed between the langa and Roero and it includes some of the most prestigeous crus.
