Monforte is made from grapes from two renowned plots, Mosconi and Castelletto, each with its own distinct character. Mosconi's soils and warm climate give the wine plenty of volume and depth, while Castelletto's cooler climate adds firmness, finesse and aromatic richness to the blend.

Tasting Comments

Tasting Notes
The aroma of dried flowers and leaves spreads at first, with hints of rose and geranium in the background. The fruit is rich, with a hint of jammy sweetness and burnt caramel. The finish is reminiscent of old-fashioned Barolo, with the rigor and elegance of tobacco leaves and dried red fruits. The tannins are surprisingly smooth, and you can also enjoy the pleasant presence of ripe plum and cinnamon.

Technical Data

The grapes from the two plots were vinified separately, macerated for 10 days, fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, then combined in 35hL 10-year-old wooden barrels for 30 months of ageing.
