[Creating new value in Montlouis and Touraine]
Originally from Picardy, Xavier Weisskopf discovered viticulture while studying for his BTS in Crop Protection in Auxerre, then completed a BTS in Viticulture and Oenology in Beaune and an internship with Claude Maréchal, where his passion for winemaking began.
After four years of training under Louis Barrue at Château Saint-Come in Gigondas, he decided to forge his own destiny: at the young age of 25, with big dreams, he founded his own estate in Saint-Martin-le-Beau.
In 2005, he took over 7 hectares of old vine Chenin in Montlouis-sur-Loire and a 100-year-old Caux in Touraine.
Since 2010, he has been supported by his wife, Clémence, and this team of five to six people grows with each season.
Xavier and Clémence love a challenge and have embarked on the following projects:
Restoration of old vines
- Cellars dug into the tufa (limestone) to allow the wine to age in optimal conditions
・Construction of a four-tiered wine cellar that uses gravity to handle wine
Build agricultural buildings and a tasting cellar to turn this Touraine farm into the heart of your domaine.
Their passion and efforts are creating new value in this area.
