Collection: Le Rocher des Violettes

Xavier Weisskopf studied winemaking in Chablis and Beaune, and after obtaining a degree in œnologie and viticulture, he worked for four years as cellar master at Château de Saint-Cosme in Gigondas. After four years as cellar master at Château de Saint-Cosme in Gigondas, he bought his first plot of 7ha and founded Le Rocher des Violettes in 2005.

Today, the vineyards in Saint-Martin le Beau in the Loire region cover 13 ha, of which 9 ha are owned by AOP Montlouis and 4 ha by AOP Touraine.

It faces north towards La Vallée du Cher, near the village of Montlouis along the Loire Valley. All parcels are small and varied in age, terroir and grape variety. The age, terroir and grape variety vary. Most of the plots were planted before 1940, with some vines as old as 120 years. The clay-limestone soils provide excellent minerality and great freshness. Organic viticulture has been practised since 2012.
