Tasting note

A pale golden hue mixed with silvery sparkle, creating a brilliant and transparent colour. Elegant fragrance with notes of Poire Williams, apricot, It starts with notes of hawthorn followed by a hint of anise. A pure aromatic expression, a strong minerality and a subtle roundness in harmony. It creates a beautiful balance, with a light aftertaste and a long finish.

About this bottle

The vineyards are located on plateaus and hills, with small plots of sand and red clay, called Pinhan, Saint-Georges and Gigas, and scattered with boulders. Pressed directly with a pneumatic press. Vinification and aging are done in tanks, with strict temperature control (maximum 17°C). Aged in tanks for 6 months before bottling. A beautiful balance is created by the harmony of pure aromatic expression, strong minerality and a slight roundness. It has a light aftertaste and a long finish.

Because these are beverages, we are generally unable to accept returns or exchanges for reasons of personal preference. Please order with care.

Even with chilled delivery, a rapid change in temperature can cause slight seepage. This does not affect the quality of the wine, and we are unable to offer an exchange or refund in such cases. Every bottle is visually checked before packing.

Where the fault is ours, returns and exchanges are accepted within 7 days of delivery.
We are unable to help after that period, so thank you for your understanding.

Return postage

Where the fault is ours — a faulty bottle or the wrong item — we cover the cost of return. Returns and exchanges for reasons of personal preference are not accepted.

About the producer

La Bastide Saint Dominique

La Bastide Saint Dominique lies in the southern Rhône, midway between Avignon and Orange. Built around a chapel dating from the 16th century, the domaine was founded in 1976 by Gérard and Marie-Claude Bonnet. In 1999 their son Eric Bonnet took over the running of the estate from his parents, carrying on the family tradition while bringing to it fresh energy and a modern outlook.

Originally a small domaine, it has grown over the years and today extends to an impressive 50 hectares. Its vineyards lie across the appellations of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Cairanne and Rasteau.

The vineyards are blessed with a great diversity of soils: safres (a type of sandy soil) lying over limestone, red clay, and soils spread with the rounded pebbles that are emblematic of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. As a result, each plot of old vines expresses its own character and gives rise to a wide range of wines.

The traditional varieties for which this area is known are grown here — Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault for the reds, along with Clairette and Roussanne for the whites. The estate keeps to traditional winemaking methods while modernising its facilities, all in order to offer the finest wines possible.

At harvest the grapes are handled with great care, sorted once in the vineyard and then a second time in the cellar. The domaine oversees every stage of production itself, from vineyard management through vinification, bottling and sales, safeguarding the character of its place and its own individuality.
