Produced only in the best years, this wine comes from grapes from the oldest and most precious vineyards in Meluzzano (35-40 years old). It is aged for 24 months in large barrels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle. The soil is very rich in trace elements such as iron and zinc, and is often interspersed with layers of silt and clay, which give the wine its unique character and excellent aging potential.

Tasting Notes
Its ruby-red color is characterized by a rich, complex, and extremely elegant aroma. Layers of violet, plum, and cherry are complemented by cinnamon, pepper, licorice, and even hints of tobacco and white truffle. The palate is dry and well-balanced, with a firm, smooth attack that gradually develops into an elegant, harmonious palate with a long, lingering finish.

After gentle pressing, the grapes are macerated with the skins for 25-30 days. During this time, a vinificator is used to control the temperature and extract the tannins by delastage. The wine is aged for 20-22 months in 25hL Slavonian oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The wine is bottled unfiltered and aged for 8-10 months before being shipped.

This wine is produced only in the best vintages, using grapes from the oldest vines in the Meluzzano vineyards, which enjoy excellent light conditions, microclimate and soils.
