Meursault 1er Cru Charmes Hospices de Beaune Cuvée Albert Grivault 2016 Maison Morey-Blanc

Maison Morey-Blanc is a négociant house established in 1992 by Pierre Morey, a master winemaker from Meursault. It carefully selects high-quality grapes and must, then ferments them in its own cellar. This particular cuvée is a barrel acquired by Morey-Blanc at the Hospices de Beaune charity auction, with Morey-Blanc responsible for its élevage (aging and finishing). The vineyard is a plot within "Les Charmes Dessus," which Albert Grivault and his wife donated to the Beaune Hospice in 1904. It is a historic plot with a mix of vines planted in 1958, 1985, and 1997.

Tasting Notes

The appearance is a brilliant pale golden color. The aroma presents notes of mineral, white peach, and a hint of honey, layered with sweet nuances of toast and vanilla derived from new oak. The palate is smooth and rounded, with the concentrated fruit enveloped by the aging aromas from the barrel. The finish is long and mellow, leaving a delightful nuance reminiscent of pear compote. It can be enjoyed in its youth with an open impression and is expected to age gracefully for several years.
