The story begins in the 1860s, when the Colla family first planted vines here. In the 1970s Gianni Gagliardo took up the family tradition and carried its philosophy of vineyard and cellar into the modern age. Today his sons lead the estate, tending with great care a mosaic of parcels scattered across La Morra, Monforte d'Alba and Serralunga. They draw the fullest expression from that diversity of terroir, transferring the character of each single plot straight into the bottle.

Their creed is harmony over sheer power, transparency over density. Extraction from the skins is gentle, temperature control is exacting. The aim is a wine built to age for decades that nevertheless opens beautifully in its youth. The red-fruited perfume of Nebbiolo, notes of violet and liquorice, a mineral echo on the finish: all of it woven together so finely that the wine flows across the palate like silk.
