Grapes grown in a complex soil that is a mixture of limestone and clay are hand-picked and carefully brewed. Fermentation takes advantage of the ripeness of the fruit, resulting in a concentrated taste of black fruits and a hint of spice. The rounded tannins and deep flavor make this wine a perfect match for grilled meat dishes.

This cuvée was inspired by the complexity of the 2017 vintage of Mas de l'Olivier's Mourvèdre and Grenache.

Winemaking

Each variety is vinified separately, with daily pigeage, the Syrah and Grenache are aged in demi-muids, the Mourvedre in dorias (large barrels).

About the Winery

La Croix Gratiot

The 33-hectare vineyard is located on the clay-limestone hills surrounding the Thau Basin, benefiting from the sea breezes and the scents of the garrigue. This terroir is rich in colors: the reds and yellows of the clay-limestone soil, the greens of the garrigue, and the blues of the sky and the Thau lagoon. The Mediterranean climate allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness and fully express their typicity.
