[Natural producers bringing a breath of fresh air to Cahors]
Located 17km from Cahors on the banks of the Caussées Carquerés, the 23-hectare family-run domaine Comber-la-Serre was created under the wishes of Jean-Pierre Ilbert, who decided to leave the cooperative and become independent in 1998.
His son Julien returned to the estate in 2003 and now works alongside his wife, Sophie. Little by little, the couple have given the estate a second lease of life.
This involves switching to organic farming (Ecocert certified), returning to many manual processes, including seasonal work, and always respecting nature and considering different terroirs.
In 2014, following the birth of their son, Sophie and Julien recognised the richness of their terroir and reimagined their wine range, choosing to isolate certain plots and blend others, and now produce a range of cuvées in Cahors and Vins de France, including a selection of several plots.
