This cuvée, called Piès Negros, aims to pay homage to tradition and to the footsteps of the grape stompers of the past, a practice still practiced in the winery. This method, combined with the altitude of the vineyards, gives the wine a freshness and local character. It is the perfect wine to get to know Tempranillo and rediscover Rioja.

Tasting Notes
It is a cherry color with a hint of violet, and shows very fruity characteristics. The juicy fruitiness and the tannins of the skin are well balanced, and the taste is like a candy without any complexity. The slight bitterness makes it easy to drink. The aroma is a fusion of blackberry and licorice with floral nuances of violets. When you put it in your mouth, it spreads throughout your mouth, is lactic and well-balanced, and is sweet and seductive overall.

Cultivation

This village wine is made from grapes harvested in the town of Abalos, at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria. The vineyards, which are on calcareous soil, were first planted in the 1920s with the utmost respect for the environment.
Located 600m above sea level, it is well shaped by the Atlantic Ocean.

brewing

The grapes are hand-picked, destemmed and crushed to allow the must to ferment, a small portion of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels, followed by 12 months of ageing in barrels of different ages to preserve the main tones of the grapes.
