Collection: Champagne Follet-Ramillon

France - Champagne
29 Gr Grande Rue, 51480 Belval-sous-Châtillon

Champagne Follet-Ramillon owns 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne and the Montagne de Reims. The vineyards, located to the south and southwest of the Marne Valley, are planted with Meunier grapes and benefit from the morning dew, providing ideal growing conditions. Chardonnay is planted on the hillsides and enjoys ample sunshine, providing ideal conditions for ripening. Located in the northeast of the Montagne de Reims, Villedemange is the ideal terroir to express the finesse and minerality of Pinot Noir and Meunier.

Approach to the field:

Respect for the terroir: expressing the individuality and diversity of the vineyards. Environmentally sustainable viticulture: We grow our grapes organically while reducing our carbon footprint. We are certified Viticulture Durable and Champagne et Haute Valeur Environnementale. We respect and protect the ecosystem in our vineyard work: since 1995, we have cultivated grass on our vineyard plots, which preserves ecosystem diversity and encourages root development, capturing the elements that give our Champagne its minerality and complexity. Hand-picking by our experienced harvesting team ensures that the grapes maintain their quality and flavour potential.

About the champagne making:

Natural winemaking that combines traditional knowledge with modern technology and allows for vinification without the use of chemicals. All vintages are vinified in the same year and aged in barrels for six months to bring out the unique characteristics of each plot and grape variety. Aging in wooden barrels is considered the most optimal ageing method, and reserve wines are aged in barrels or solera barrels. To maintain quality, no filtration, clarification or stabilization is performed. Brut Nature is aged in the cellar for a minimum of 4 years, Terroir for a minimum of 5 years and Vintage for a minimum of 6 years. After disgorgement, the wine is then aged in the cellar for a further 6 to 12 months, a rare feat in Champagne, made possible by the quality of the ripe grapes.

About the House of Follet Ramillon:

Founded in 1955, the vineyards are currently managed by fourth generation winemakers Jeremy and Yannick Follet. Nicolas Follet, an oenologist and consultant for 17 years, has acquired his wine knowledge around the world, including in South Africa, Argentina, the United States and Italy. For many years, he has specialized in warm climate sparkling wine production to meet the current and future climatic challenges in the Champagne region.
