[The producer that produced the first Prosecco Brut]
Bortolomiol is located in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the Prosecco DOCG region. Its history as a wine producer dates back to the 18th century, and the winery itself was founded in 1949 by Giuliano Bortolomiol.
Considered a pioneer of the Charmat method, Giuliano produced the first ever Brut Prosecco in 1960. His dream was to "raise the quality and recognition of Prosecco, making it a prestigious sparkling wine known all over the world."
Today, his wife Ottavia runs the winery together with their four daughters (María Elena, Elvira, Luisa and Giuliana) and ensures the brand's philosophy: quality, a strong connection to the land, respect for nature and environmental sustainability.
In recent years, Bortolomiol has invested in new technologies with the aim of establishing a more sustainable approach to various aspects of winemaking, while always maintaining strong ties to the traditions started by Giuliano.
In 2008, Bortolomiol made the decision to convert its vineyards to organic farming and has continued to evolve ever since to minimize the environmental impact of its winemaking.
