The grapes are harvested from a plot on the south-facing limestone hills of the village of Bué. The griotte soil and chalky subsoil give the wine a powerful minerality that makes it appealing when young, but also more enjoyable with a few years of aging.

Tasting Notes
Pale gold in colour with a slight greenish sheen.

Fresh and gorgeous aromas of lemon peel, white peach, and honeysuckle rise from the glass, gradually revealing nuances of flint and wet chalk, characteristic of the calcareous soil.

The palate is extremely pure and sharp, with firm acidity giving the wine structure and mineral saltiness enhancing the umami flavor.

Aging on the lees for 18 months adds depth and smooth texture to the flavor, giving it a very long stay in the mouth.

This is a classic and refined Sancerre that excels in expressing the terroir, and we can expect it to evolve further with several years of aging.

Le Chêne Marchand is located in the village of Bué, in the south of the appellation, and enjoys excellent sunshine thanks to its south-facing location halfway up the slope.
The two plots of vines planted on Griotte soil at an altitude of 250m produce small, very early-ripening grapes, which are usually among the earliest harvested plots each year.
