The average age of the vines is 45 years, and this cuvée is always highly acclaimed for its elegance and beautiful bouquet. Carrel means "square" in French, and is located just below the beautiful 16th century chapel in Volnay. Deep ruby color with garnet glimmers. Delicate and elegant aromas of well-ripened small red fruits with oriental spices, violets and a hint of minerality.

Its elegant texture makes it an ideal companion to white meats such as roasted poultry, quail stuffed with porcini and foie gras, or veal confit, and it also pairs well with triple cream cheeses such as Brillat-Savarin or Château.
