Jean-Marie Guffens is known as a reformer in the Mâconnais region. He practices a unique "no-till" philosophy, shallow-tilling only once a year while maintaining ground cover, and cultivates grapes with extremely restricted yields. "Tri" refers to a harvesting method where the vineyards are revisited multiple times over several weeks to select only perfectly ripe berries, and the cuvée name embodies this philosophy. He is also known for his rare winemaking approach using a Coquard press, originally from Champagne. The 2010 vintage has a finish that combines both structure and suppleness.
Tasting Notes
Deep golden color. The aroma is a harmonious blend of concentrated yellow peach and citrus fruit, with notes of vanilla and light roast from the barrel. On the palate, there's a rich fruitiness balanced by firm acidity, leading to a long finish with nuances of minerality and honey. With the added maturity typical of an old vintage, it is now at its peak drinking window.

Cultivation & Vinification
- Cultivation Philosophy: "No-till" - shallow-tillage only once a year, ground cover maintained to prevent soil compaction.
- Cultivation policy limits fertilization to achieve highly concentrated fruit, with low yields of approximately 37-38 hl/ha.
- Harvest: "Tri" - several sorting passes over several weeks to harvest only perfectly ripe portions.
- Pressing: Uses a modified Coquard press, which is rare in Burgundy.
- Strict separation of free-run juice and pressed juice.
- Top cuvées undergo barrel fermentation and multiple bâtonnage.
