Pierre Morey served as cellar master at Domaine Leflaive for 20 years, from 1988 to 2008, where he led the domaine's complete conversion to biodynamic farming. He also transitioned his own domaine to 100% biodynamic farming in 1997. The Perrières vineyard is located within the "Perrières Dessus" parcel, which is enclosed by stone walls. His own plot spans only 0.52 hectares, planted in 1985. This vineyard is known within Meursault for its strong structure and aging potential, and 2019 was a year that boasted an excellent balance of concentration and acidity.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold with a greenish sheen. The aroma offers white flowers, green apple, and flinty minerality, with a hint of honey, and notes of hazelnut emerging over time. On the palate, a taut acidity derived from the limestone forms the backbone, blending with concentrated fruit flavors and a subtle vanilla scent from the oak. The finish is long, with a persistent saline minerality. The closed aromas are just beginning to open, and this wine has the potential to age for more than 10 years.
