This Bunnahabhain was made during a period when the distillery adopted a non-peated or extremely lightly peated style, yet it still clearly embodies the characteristics of an Islay single malt.
Its prominent saltiness and the delicate smokiness (retronasal) that emerges towards the finish are clear evidence of this.
Furthermore, it possesses a very captivating and sensual character, with aromas and flavors, from the initial scent to the taste and lingering finish, showcasing a consistent and beautiful harmony built on a foundation of licorice tones.

About the ARTIST Collection

This collection was created by La Maison du Whisky in 2011 and is an exceptionally special single malt collection featuring only single casks bottled at natural cask strength. It includes long-aged vintages of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 years, and sometimes even more.
This series draws inspiration from the paintings of Gesine Arps, a German-born painter, sculptor, and poet (born 1964). Guided by dreamy and sensual meditation, her works depict diverse symbols such as botanical motifs, animal figures, and human silhouettes in luminous tones, using natural pigments, crystal powder, and gold and silver leaf.

Tasting Notes

Profile: Deep and fresh.

Nose: Rich and profound aromas. Vanilla, lemon, acacia, dandelion, buttercup, honeysuckle. A hint of peat.

Palate: Rich and concentrated mouthfeel. Sea asparagus (salicornia), green licorice, malted barley, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg.

Finish: Long, fresh finish. Pineapple, plantain, licorice stick, chamomile, sage, seaweed.
